The kid's at football practice and we're stuck in town. Oh well, I guess we'll just have to hang out at Starbucks for a while this morning. Ohhh, the sacrifices we make for our young'ens. =:D
News that's interesting to me.
1. Sorry to all you Clinton fans, but Obama's announcing his running mate and methinks it won't be her. Personally, I'd love to see her kissing ass in the #2 position.
2. Another local school is at odds with the community over the name change of their mascot. Reskins to Red Storm.
3. Donald Trump is awesome. I'm not an Ed McMahon fan, but I was kinda saddened to see a senior member of society in such a desperate situation. Go Trump!
4. The obits are looking good today. (hey, don't tell me you don't look!) No on under 67 made that section of the paper. That's good, because it's summer. People shouldn't die in the summer. If they do, it should only be on rainy days.
I actually forgot how to log into this place. "Are you serious?" Yes, serious as a fricken heart attack. (I know a couple of my friends are laughing right now cuz I said "as a fricken heart attack"... it's so lame but I can't stop saying it! UGH! it starts to slip out and I'm left thinking... "well... y'already started saying it, y'might as well finish, it's not like they're all wondering what's on the tip of your tongue at this point...." ) I did, I forgot. Isn't that somewhat akin to walking up to your high school locker in, say... March... when over half the school year has gone by... and you suddenly realize "Oh... mygawd... I forgot my combination!" Then you remember why you're there at your locker in the first place and you start thinking wildly random thoughts like; "For the love of man, I hope I can get in touch with my inner Fonz before the bell rings, or I won't be able to get my homework out of there!" You have a slight panic attack, no biggie. You kinda... peek into the little slats on the door - like that's gonna reveal anything monumentally "telling" - and you basically wind up looking like a wide eyed panic ridden freak as you bookit (yah, I said it... I said "bookit". Don't you sit there and judge like you never say "bookit", evvvveryone says it at least once in a while - oh, except snotty people. :o hahahah, kidding!) down to the guidance counselor's office. And lest we not forget we're desperately trying to think of some really great reason for how we forgot the combination we've been using at least twice a day, every day for the past 7 months... and for that special moment when we're asked "didn't you write it down?" we're practicing and perfecting the scoffing/pathetic eyeroll combo which we're hoping will be automatically understood in our favor... but... we're having a bad day and so it just winds up being this awkward silent pause as we scoff... a little longer than necessary... and the questioner still waits for an answer, which leads us to admit... we don't exactly like to "write". Gosh, that was embarassing. I'm glad I'm not the only one that happened to. :)
I'm watching the Olympics. Reality television at its best. I love people who chide reality TV. Like they don't actually find it interesting to watch fish in a fishbowl! Pff! Sheahright, they're full of crap. I'm not sure how "reality" it is for TV, but lately I've been getting into "Psychic Kids" with Chip Coffey. I love watching kids grow and learn... and stuff. Mushy Mushy... speaking of ... growing and learning and all that. High School football season has started! YAYYY!!!
Ok, well, this was a quick buzz in, buzz out . It was going to be "more" but I spent too much time trying to get into my account. I expended all my energy. Maybe I should gnash a powerbar before I hit the ole Vox site next time? Have a powerade or something, ready to go in case I break a sweat?

1. I wish people would stop picking on "celebrities". Reality TV seems to make everyone an expert...
2. I have 3 cats. Beans, Teaguean, and Puck. Pucky's the baby, he's only a couple of months old. I keep wondering why it is that his fur is so danged soft. Then I catch Teaguean pinning Pucky to the floor giving him a "bath" and I
3. I don't know how they do it, but the people who made soy products look, taste, and feel like real chicken... God Bless'em!
4. I said it was going to rain. And it did. (I think that makes me 'gifted'... don't you?)
5. I can't get that vet out of my mind... y'know... the one that shoved a giant PVC pipe down that shark's mouth... then reached in there and pulled out that "OH MY LORD LOOKIT THE SIZE OF THAT" fish hook? Y'know who I'm talking about? Well, I've been thinking about it and... I think that guy might be crazy.
6. Ryan Seacrest was bitten by a shark. First I thought "I bet he screamed like a little girl" then I thought "that's mean, I can't believe you thought that". Then ... Then I thought "Kathy Griffin is going to fricken town on this dude... " you wait... wait and see.
7. Simon Cowell was too nice this season during American Idol Auditions. That's the only part of the season we watch.. .and while I'll admit, it's for awful... non-noble intentions (laughing so hard I spit milk out my nose when a tone deaf guy blankly chants "LLLLLLET MY PEEEEEEPLLLLLL GOOOOOOOO") that I do so... I still feel in my heart of hearts.. he should be meaner. Even if it's just to dissuade some of these poor judgmentally-challenged contestants from forever burning their image into digital media (or the minds of thousands of Americans in one fell swoop).
8. Where the heck did the word Bar-B-Cue come from? And is there really a .. real... official way to spell "Bar-B-Cue"? BBQ? barbeque, barbecue, bar-b-cue, bar-b-que.
9. I'm saddened that the Hamm brother with the curiously high pitched voice is not participating in the Olympics. I'm not just saying that.
10. I downloaded an iPhone game last night at, like... 11:30, and while I like to think of myself as a... eh hem... "night owl"... apparently I'm only fooling myself.. .because when the clock struck midnight I was "officially" using only %8 of my brain and the little lady on the iPhone screen kept asking me "what's wrong with you? are you ok?" Go ahead, laugh. I can't hear you anyway.
11. I'm wondering how a company can name a product "Dreamweaver", like Adobe's Dreamweaver is named. The word "Dreamweaver" (or.. words.. I can't tell if that's a real compound word or not, I need a dictionary...) makes me immediately think of "groovy" rainbow streaming lights and that dreamy kind of slow song sung by that guy with the annoying voice. Every time the song comes on the radio my stepson wants to put his head through the side window just to "make it stop!" (so, of course, I begin the sing-along-portion of the day's events =:D ). Adobe's Dreamweaver is the same way. Why is that? I put this program on my computer. I load it up. I turn it on. And I. ... ... sit there... "what... the....? howdoyouworkthisthing?" 6 days later I'm still trying to figure the thing out.
12. Kitt was so cool. David Hasselhoff... I admire his spunk, and if I could say something to him and he wouldn't know it's me I'd probably say something like... "I love your work... back in the 80's, wasn't much of a Baywatch fan... but... please... for the love of man... don't sing in America. They love you in Germany... save it for the Euro's, buddy..."
13. I saw Daryl Hall in concert a few weeks ago... damn he's getting old... but he has fine hair! Rock on Daryl Hall! You rule! (he was pretty good, go see him if you can)
I guess that's it for random thoughts right now. :) I'll have more in about 15 minutes, but I probably won't post them because it's dinner time and I'm hungry. .... eat....blog.....eat....blog.... eat. I'm gonna eat.
Mostly, just 3 impatient dudes who don't want to wait for AAA to arrive because they, eh-hem, "know how to fix this.."

The good news is, they got the door unlocked? Is that really 'good' news? What level of 'good' is it when you realize you can break into a Toyota Tundra with the bare hands and brute pulling strength of 2 guys, and the careful jimmying with the Tundra's very own antenna. Go figure.

This is the scene right now for me. YAY, right? Darknite is all excited to get his new upgraded iPhone, so I'm here supporting him... And his childlike enthusiasm. ;) I'm pretty happy with my iPhone, and I'm anxious to see what quirks these new models come with. We'll see, I suppose. If they dont have what he wants we'll get one on Tuesday. The line is long and the supply is short...
